ALL DAY INTERIOR OF PUBLIC BUILDINGS (AVAILABLE MONDAY-SATURDAY ONLY) (9 Hours)

8:30am This all day tour of the monuments and museums highlights the famous Smithsonian Institution. Step off the coach and visit: The White House, scheduled to be open Tuesday through Saturday, however cannot be guaranteed. When not available, the White House Visitor’s Center will be substituted for the White House. Also visited on this tour is Ford’s Theatre, Petersen House, Jefferson Memorial, FDR Memorial, American History Museum, Capitol Hill, Supreme Court, Library of Congress, and the National Air and Space Museum. View from the coach The FBI Building, Federal Triangle, Ellipse, National Christmas Tree, Tidal Basin, Washington Monument, House and Senate Office Buildings, the buildings of the Legislative and Judicial Branches of the US Government, US Botanical Gardens, the National Gallery of Art, Natural History Museum, Hirshhorn Museum, the Castle, the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial, US Navy Memorial and the Grant Memorial. Board Arlington Cemetery’s tram and see the Tomb of the Unknowns for the Changing of the Guard and the Kennedy Gravesites. View from the coach, the US Capitol, Library of Congress, Supreme Court, House and Senate Office Buildings, FBI Building, White House, Federal Triangle, Embassy Row, Georgetown, US Navy Memorial and Corcoran Gallery of Art. HOP OFF & HOP PRIVILEGES ON NARRATED TROLLEY (2.5 Hours to all day)

Enjoy a full day of hop on and hop off privileges as you view the sights of our Nation’s Capital aboard a motorized trolley car. Tour will encompass the major sights of Washington in an approximate two and a half hour circle. The on and off flexibility can make the tour last all day by visiting monuments, museums and shopping and dining facilities. Create your own tour by choosing your stops. In a full day on the trolley, you can make approximately 5-6 one hour stops to visit many, but not all, of the following attractions: Union Station, US Capital, US Navy Memorial, ESPN Zone, National Museum of Women in the “Arts, Chinatown, MCI Center, Ford’s Theatre, Hard Rock Café, White House (photo Stop), The Smithsonian Museum, Lincoln, Vietnam, and Korean Memorials, Arlington National Cemetery, Washington Harbor, Georgetown, Embassy Row. Washington National Cathedral, National Zoo, Adam’s Morgan, National Geographic, National Aquarium, Ronald Reagan Building and DC Visitors Center, Washington Monument, Holocaust Museum, Bureau of Engraving and Printing, Mall Area, National Air and Space Museum and the National Gallery of Art. Routes are subject to change and delays may occur due to traffic, weather, street closures, etc.

CELEBRATE OUR HEROES (7 Hours) (Tuesdays only, Selected, Seasonal Dates June-August)

Join us in exploration of three branches of public service and the people who have answered the call to help others both on a daily basis and during the most challenging of times. Visit the American Red Cross Visitor’s Center and learn the history of this extraordinary humanitarian relief organization and discover the ways in which  1.2 million trained and dedicated volunteers, young and old, are helping their neighbors across the country every day. Then pay tribute to the service and sacrifice of law enforcement officers as you visit the National Law Enforcement Memorial, which honors survivors and the memory of America’s Fallen Heroes. Built without one cent of taxpayer money, it is truly a gift of appreciation from a grateful nation. Time will be allowed to see the Visitor’s Center, which offers 30 exhibitions and covers the history of the memorial and law enforcement in America. The evening will conclude at the Iwo Jima Memorial to experience the Marine Corp Sunset Parade and Silent Drill Team. The tour will return to Union Station by 9PM. There is a short walk from the motor coach to the Sunset Parade Site. Good walking shoes are recommended.

MULTILINGUAL TOUR (SUNDAY & WEDNESDAY ONLY)

2:00pm This tour of Washington is designed for international visitors with narration in their own language with headphones. Mt. VERNON BY CANDLIGHT (Seasonal – a few December dates only) (4 Hours)

5:30pm Departure See how the Washington Family entertained during the long winter season as you encounter 18th Century Characters sharing stories about Christmas hospitality 200 years ago. Your special guided tour of the mansion by candlelight includes the rarely opened third floor where Martha Washington lived after the General’s death. Enjoy complimentary hot cider and cookies by fireside as you listen to colonial music. The evening will conclude with time for holiday shopping and a glimpse of Old Town Alexandria. Tour departs from Union Station. No hotel pickup.

DAY TRIP TO COLONIAL WILLIAMSBURG (14 Hours)

8:30AM  Today you depart Washington and board a motor coach for a sightseeing tour of Colonial Williamsburg and the finest examples of Georgian Architecture, 18th Century furnishings and gardens landscaped with plants know only to colonial horticulturists. “The Story of Patriot” will be shown en route to Williamsburg. Tour will include the restored area of the Capitol Palace, Gaol, Raleigh Tavern and home of George Wythe. See the Bruton Parish Church, Courthouse, Powder Magazine, Brush-Everard House and the College of William and Mary. Depart Williamsburg approximately 7PM Tour ends at Union Station. Tour length is approximately 14 hours. Lunch is on your own. (Tour operates Friday & Saturdays only) You have left two open days in the event your clients may enjoy some down time on their own. In the event they want those days filled, we offer the following suggestions.

GETTYSBURG (Offered Mondays only) (10 Hours)

This tour departs at 8:30am and for a journey through the picturesque countryside of Maryland and Pennsylvania and into Gettysburg, PA, a town steeped in American history. The day will be devoted to a tour of the town and the historic battlefield. The Gettysburg Diorama, one of the largest Miniature Military Dioramas in the United States, gives a narrated history of the Battle, accompanied by sound and light effects. The Diorama includes over 20,000 hand painted soldiers, horses, cannons and buildings. From here you move into you r guided tour of the Battlefield, where in July of 1863 the Union Army, under General George C. Meade, defeated the Confederate forces under General Robert E. Lee. The commentary of your tour guides will help shed new light on   the story of the largest battle ever fought on Untied States soil. You will view Cemetery Ridge where Abraham Lincoln delivered his famous Gettysburg Address and visit the restored home of George Washington Shriver. Hear how Confederate sharpshooters were killed, Civil War bullets as well as medical equipment were discovered 133 years later and how George’s wife Henrietta and their two children tried to escape the fighting surrounding their home. Finally, take a self-guided tour illustrating the impact the Battle of Gettysburg had on this small rural community during those fateful days of 1863, offering a sampling of Gettysburg’s battle related sites, with a little time for shopping and snacking. This tour ends at Union Station. Lunch is included at General Pickett’s. (Offered Mondays only)

MONTICELLO/THOMAS JEFFERSON COUNTRY (Offered Tuesdays only) (11 Hours)

8:30am Departure Travel to Charlottesville, VA and view the panoramic scenery en route to the University of Virginia, one of Thomas Jefferson’s architectural design masterpieces. Lunch with a tour will be at the historic Michie Tavern and is included. Then continue up the mountainside to Monticello, Home of Thomas Jefferson, resident, inventor, surveyor, musician and artists. Tour ends at Union Stations. (Operates on Tuesdays only)

BUSCH GARDENS, WILLIAMSBURG, VA (14 Hours)

Visit Old World Europe with 17th Century flair and look forward to a day filled with action, adventure and entertaining shows.
